Post 407 of the American Legion here in El Paso is partnering with another local Post to sponsor a young man to go to Boys’ State.  

They are need of some donations to accomplish this mission.  Any amount you can give will help us send this person to Austin to attend this prestigious event.  It starts on 9 Jun and ends on 14 Jun 2024 in Austin TX.  Transportation costs are not cheap, of course.  We would also provide this student with some soda and hamburger money.  If you wish to help, please send donations to:

    El Paso County Veteran of the Year Award 2023 Nomination Deadline Aug 31, 2022 In recognition of the extraordinary veterans who continue to serve in the El Paso region, the County of El Paso and the County’s Veterans Advisory Board are taking applications to nominate a Veteran of the Year whose outstanding service has made a positive impact in the community we all love and call home. The Veteran of the Year will be selected by a sub-committee of veterans. The Veteran of the Year will be recognized on the Veterans Wall of Honor in the El Paso County Courthouse on or before Nov 11, 2022.

    GUIDELINES:
    ✓ Does not have to be a resident of El Paso County, however service to the El Paso County and its veterans is a must.
    ✓ Must have served honorably in one of the U.S. Armed Forces.
    ✓ Must be a member of a veteran organization/district and be selected by the organization’s board to
    submit an application for Veteran of the Year.
    ✓ Please include a biography of the nominated veteran.

Under section 4202 of the Johnny Isakson and David P.
